If you didn't have an opportunity to catch John Mellencamp on this concert tour, sorry but you missed an excellent show. This was the second to last show on this tour (final show was July 1st) and if practice makes perfect, this show was as close to perfect as it gets. John Mellencamp was in top form, the band was in top form, the weather was perfect, and the crowd loved every minute of the show.

In my opinion when you go to see a concert, you go to hear your favorite songs (someone please talk to The Artist formerly known as Prince) and John Mellencamp didn't dissapoint anyone. Returning to his home state he started the show with a crowd favorite "Small Town" and then spent the next two hours playing all his best. He not only played his classics, but he put fresh spins on many, including a rap in "Jack and Diane". The show came to a close with opening act Amanda Marshall teaming up with Mellencamp for a great rendition of "Pink Houses". My only complaint was the concert could have easily been another 2 hours without hearing a complaint from anyone in attendance.

If you've never seen John Mellencamp in concert, next time around get in line and get tickets. After 5 shows I've never been disappointed, and I can't wait for the next go round.
