The opening act was Johnny Lang - a blues rock artist with a sound similar to Stevie Ray Vaughn. I enjoyed his music very much, mostly as a result of the amount of energy and feeling that he put into it, which is in my opinion a requirement for this type of music.
When Aerosmith came on stage there were very tall curtains draping down from the lighting to the stage, and there were pulses of different colors of back-light every few seconds. The curtains were somewhat transparent (which let the colored light through), and it made the anticipation of the crowd build very high when you could see the tall distorted shadowy figures of the band members as they took their place with their instruments behind the curtain on stage. The stage setup included props of a couple of snakes, and a couple of cat-like totem poles. It was a very energetic performance by the band, and the crowd pretty much was dancing the entire time. They played their hits as well as some from the new album. The band certainly has not mellowed out with age. I enjoyed this concert very much. By the way, if there are any single guys reading this, this is definitely one of those concerts where good-looking chicks hang out.
